UNiTE to End Violence against Women campaign proclaims every 25th of the month as Orange Day

The first in a series of Orange Days will be launched this coming Wednesday, 25th July, and the action will be repeated every consecutive month leading up to the 57th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women to be held in March next year. The aim of our action is to raise awareness about the issue of violence against women and girls and bring attention to this pandemic, not only once a year on 25 November (International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women), but every month. We also intend to make our UNiTE Ribbon a worldwide known symbol of activism to prevent and end violence against women and girls, just as Red Ribbon is for the work on preventing AIDS.

What can you do?

1. Wear orange on 25 July;

2. Invite others to wear orange on every 25th of the month, share posts & tweet about it!

3. Use & share the photo of the UNiTE Ribbon - the new symbol for preventing and ending violence against women and girls;

4. Visit the Orange Dayevent page on Say NO-UNiTEFace Book site for more details (http://www.facebook.com/events/501034676577654/?notif_t=plan_user_joined);

5. Change your Facebook cover photo to the cover photo of the Say NO - UNiTE Facebook page, promoting the Orange Day and the ribbon.
