Main Elements:
• Preparation and independent review
of three position papers: Cultural, Socio-Political Context
of Leadership in the Caribbean; Historical Concepts and
Paradigms of Leadership & Their Relevance to Strengthening
Women’s Transformational Leadership in the Caribbean; and
Leadership Projects and Programmes for Women in the Caribbean.
• Empirical research study conducted through questionnaires and focus group discussions in six countries, based on the identification of the following specific practices: peace promotion (Belize), economic empowerment (Jamaica), gender-sensitive policy analysis (St. Kitts), TL (Barbados), active participation of women in local government (St. Lucia), and organizational and political participation (The Bahamas).
• The first learning community workshop on TL implemented, bringing together the researchers, the authors of the papers, research participants, leaders/potential leaders and young women leaders from five Caribbean countries.
