Gender Training Programme: Development of Training Modules for Women in Middle Management, CGDS Regional Coordinating Unit

Objective: To improve the content and delivery of gender training in the region through a review of existing gender training materials; critically assessing gender training; and, producing a generic gender-training module for the CARICOM Region.

Main Elements:

• UNIFEM/CGDS/CARICOM collaborative project funded by CIDA/GEF through UNIFEM.

• Writers’ Workshop for gender training consultants on how to prepare training material on gender analysis for face-to-face and distance delivery.

• Development of two modules: a generic training module on Understanding Gender in Caribbean Society; and a specific module on Gender and Management Issues in Caribbean Organisations, designed to meet the gender analysis training needs of middle-level managers in the public and para-public sectors. The modules will be pilot-tested in 2004.
