Main elements:
• National and community consultative meetings held in the four Windwards; participating communities identified; and National Advisory Committees (NAC) responsible for overseeing project implementation in-country, established.
• In collaboration with CAFRA, popular economic literacy manual produced and tested; research into vegetable production as an alternative completed in St. Vincent/Grenada and research into alternatives to banana production carried out in Dominica and St. Lucia; and CAFRA/CGTN position paper on gender and trade prepared for WTO Ministerial Meeting, Qatar.
• Two NGOs, one each in Grenada
and St. Lucia, selected to start mobilisation of the selected
communities.
• Implementing NGO, GRENCODA, convenes workshops on gender analysis/planning and economic literacy (using CAFRA manual) for government planners and key stakeholders from rural communities in Grenada.
